Viktor Vekselberg (Vice President, RSPP; Chairman of the RSPP International Cooperation Committee; President of the Skolkovo Foundation) and Andrey Kuznetsov (Managing Director, RSPP) participated in the 18th session of the Russian – French Economic, Financial, Industrial and Trade Council (CEFIC). The French delegation was led by François Baroin, the Finance Minister of France and chairman of the French part of CEFIC. Both delegations comprised CEOs, leaders of non-profit organizations and government officials. The session discussed modernization partnership between Russia and France, technological cooperation in energy efficiency etc. Mr. Vekselberg spoke on business interaction.
Summarizing the results of 2011, Mr. Vekselberg said, “We have taken a number of steps to boost economic relations between Russia and France since the previous session. We have established the Centre for Energy Efficiency, co-founded by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and a consortium of French transnational corporations with support from the governments. We have arranged a tour of Russian regions for France’s 40 biggest companies. We have launched the Strategic Economic Council of Russian and French Enterprises”.
The plenary session was followed by a meeting between CEFIC co-chairmen A. Zhukov and F. Baroin and businessmen featuring approximately thirty companies and representatives from leading business associations of the two countries.
