The Greek Eurasian Business Council (GEBC) is the first national business council that focuses on cooperation with business communities of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEC). A similar Memorandum has already been signed between the GEBC and the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Atameken Union”. Further Memoranda will be signed with business associations of Armenia, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan.
Prior to signing the Memorandum the parties noted an important mutual desire to develop cooperation with all the business communities of the Eurasian Economic Union as many aspects of multilateral economic relations are now regulated by the EEC mechanisms.
The participants held the view that bilateral relations continue to play a highly important role. Therefore the parties considered it necessary to consolidate efforts of the GEBC with a previously created Russia-Greek business council in order to further strengthen the bilateral relations. The participants agreed to also take full advantage of the forthcoming year of Russia in Greece and Greece in Russia in 2016.
Alexander Shokhin signed the Memorandum on behalf of the Russian party and Mr S. Kouvelis on behalf of Greece.
