Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) and Argentine Industrial Union (UIA) signed the Agreement on Establishing the Argentine–Russian Business Dialogue

Buenos Aires, October 22, 2015 - Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) and Argentine Industrial Union (UIA) signed the Agreement on Establishing the Argentine–Russian Business Dialogue. The document was signed by Member of the RSPP Board, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of OJSC PhosAgro Andrey Guryev and UIA President Adrián Kaufmann Brea.

The official ceremony of the Agreement signing was also attended by RSPP Executive Vice President Victor Cherepov and OJSC PhosAgro Deputy CEO Valery Fedorov.

According to Victor Cherepov, “the Agreement was signed in furtherance of the Memorandum of Understanding between RSPP and UIA adopted in December 2012”.

The Dialogue`s main aim is to contribute to expanding trade volume between Russia and Argentina through developing economic relations and promoting close contacts between industry associations of both countries as well as to support private and entrepreneurial initiatives needed for strengthening Russian – Argentine business engagement.

RSPP and UIA agreed on the Business Dialogue personnel and list of Russian and Argentine unions and industry associations it is comprised of. The first meeting of the Business Dialogue is planned to be held in Moscow in spring 2016.

Moreover the Argentinian partners supported the RSPP proposals to expand the cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union and Mercosur, said Victor Cherepov.

According to Adrián Kaufmann Brea, “the establishment of the Business Dialogue will allow to develop the strategic partnership between Argentina and Russia more effectively”.

Andrey Guryev emphasized that signing of the Agreement on Establishing the Argentine–Russian Business Dialogue a day of 130th Anniversary of the diplomatic relations establishment between Russia and Argentina is symbolic. He also noted that “both countries have much in common and significant potential as industrial and agrarian powers”.

“The Business Dialogue is aimed not only at supporting the trade volume increase between our counties but also improving the exchange of technologies in traditional and nuclear energy, oil and gas and chemical industries” – noted Andrey Guryev. He also expressed hope that “the Business Dialogue will help implement actions in the key priority spheres of the bilateral cooperation which were discussed by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and the President of Argentina Cristina Fernández de Kirchner during the teleconference the day before”.

Argentine Industrial Union (UIA) is an influentialArgentine organization representing the interests of the business community in Argentina and at the international level which was established in 1875.
