Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in a meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum’s CEO Summit

In his address to the participants of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum’s CEO Summit Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that “cooperation with the Asia-Pacific region is one of Russia’s strategic priorities”. Vladimir Putin supported Chinese presidency`s priority of securing agreement on the concrete steps towards establishing a future Asia-Pacific free trade zone.

Russian President noted that Russia wants to strengthen the relations with all Asia-Pacific region countries and play an active part in building a free trade system and in economic and investment cooperation.

Vladimir Putin drew the attention of the Summit participants to the opportunities which the launch of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) (including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and joining Armenia) on January 1, 2015 opens for businesses.

According to the Russian President, one of the most important priorities is to create a favorable environment for investment and doing business in Russia as well as APEC countries. Vladimir Putin noted that the establishment of the National Coordination Centre for Developing Economic Relations with the Asia-Pacific Region Countries will facilitate a launch of new projects with Russia’s involvement in the APEC.
