Russian-German current relations and prospects in economic, business and other spheres were discussed at the meeting between Sergey Lavrov, Sigmar Gabriel and leading Russian and German business representatives

On February 7, Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov met with German Vice-Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Sigmar Gabriel on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference to discuss Russian-German current relations and prospects in economic, business and other spheres as well as an actual European agenda.

The conversation was followed by an expanded meeting with Russian and German business representatives. German businessmen confirmed their commitment to work actively in the Russian market and emphasized that mutual sanctions should be rolled-back. The representatives of business community of both countries called for reinvigorating the time-tested mechanisms of Russian-German economic relations and cooperation in other spheres

The participants of the meeting also highlighted a unique role of business in restoring the atmosphere of trust and eliminating artificial barriers.
