RSPP President Alexander Shokhin has had a meeting with a MEDEF International delegation during a power breakfast in Moscow. The delegation, comprising 38 French businessmen led by Olivier Barbaroux, chairman of the France – Russia Business Council and Dalkia CEO, arrived in Russia to gain insight into the recent developments in the country including its investment climate. Some questions asked by the guests concerned Russia’s WTO accession etc.
MEDEF representatives were particularly interested in the extent of influence RSPP has on economic reforms in Russia and on government decisions and privatization of public property.
Mr. Shokhin suggested MEDEF should start putting forward candidates for the RSPP-compiled list of independent directors to be nominated for seats on the board of Russian major companies.
The meeting was conducted in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
