RSPP President Alexander Shokhin participated in the B20 International Business Advisory Council (IBAC) meetings and events of the B20 Conference in Ankara

RSPP President Alexander Shokhin participated in the B20 International Business Advisory Council (IBAC) meetings and events of the B20 Conference within the Turkish presidency in Ankara.

Before the conference the IBAC members had a discussion with Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Cevdet Yılmaz and former Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan.

Alexander Shokhin participated in the B20 leaders meeting with the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the sidelines of the B20 events.

The discussions of the first day of the conference focused on the B20 agenda for growth, as well as the G20 future as a global governance institution. In his statement Alexander Shokhin emphasized that the G20 work in the future should focus on three priorities. First, the G20 agenda should concentrate on its core mission of achieving strong, sustainable and balanced growth. Second, the G20 should enhance compliance and accountability. Third, the G20 should consolidate its engagement with the outreach partners, particularly business. According to Alexander Shokhin, tighter agenda, rigorous implementation and accountability will translate into G20 higher transparency, effectiveness and legitimacy.
