RSPP President Alexander Shokhin addressed the participants of the B20 summit in Antalya (Turkey) which was held on November 14-15, 2015. The summit was a concluding event of the Turkey B20 presidency. On the first day of the summit the participants summed up the B20 activities in 2015, emphasized the main achievements and recommendations. B20 handover ceremony from the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) to the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) took place.
The key event of the second day was 90-minute plenary session with the participation of G20 leaders and heads of prominent international organizations at which the B20 recommendations prepared under the Turkey presidency, were presented to the leaders. During the session the G20 leaders and heads of prominent international organizations, in particular President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde and Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Angel Gurría, answered the questions of the B20 representatives.
In his statement at the B20 summit Alexander Shokhin presented the business vision on the international investment principles related to foreign direct investment (FDI). Alexander Shokhin noted that in the context of large number of international investment agreements (more than 3000) business requires clear and transparent rules and certainty that these rules will be enforced. In this regard the B20 advocates development and implementation of common investment rules. In conclusion Alexander Shokhin expressed hope that a set of international investment principles will be developed by the next summit in 2016.
On the B20 summit sidelines Alexander Shokhin held a number of bilateral meetings in particular the meeting between RSPP and CCPIT delegations took place. The discussion of the meeting focused on the cooperation prospects within the Chinese B20 presidency next year and bilateral RSPP-CCPIT cooperation.
The RSPP was presented at the B20 summit by Alexey Mordashov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Severstal (co-chair of the B20 Trade taskforce), David Iakobachvili, President of Orion Heritage Llc (member of the B20 IBAC), Marina Larionova, RSPP Vice President for International Relations (B20 Russia Sherpa), Victor Sedov, CEO of Center for Entrepreneurship (CFE), Alexey Repik, President of All Russia Public Organization “Delovaya Rossiya” (Business Russia), Ziyavudin Magomedov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Summa Group, members of the B20 taskforces and other interested persons.
