In his address in the session “The role for business in shaping public policy” he highlighted the importance of a balanced approach to assessment of short-term and long-term costs and benefits of new regulation both at national and global level. He emphasized that one of the most effective ways to promote business interests in shaping government policies is the regulatory impact assessment procedure.

The important event within the B20 summit is the Troika meeting. The Troika mechanism brings together the previous, current and next B20 chairs. This year the Troika discussion was focused on the current and future B20 presidencies agendas.
