RSPP, MEDEF International Sign ‘Russia – France Business Cooperation Council’ Establishment Protocol

PARIS - RSPP President Alexander Shokhin and MEDEF International President Jean Burrell signed the Protocol of Establishment of the ‘Russia – France Business Cooperation Council’ Tuesday, in the presence of the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Jean-Marc Ayrault at the MEDEF Headquarters housing the meeting between the Prime Ministers and representatives of the two countries’ businesses. Vladimir Yakunin (RSPP Vice President and ‘Russian Railways’ President) and Jean-Yves Le Gall, head of Arianespace will co-chair the Council.

Speaking after the signing of the Protocol Mr. Shokhin said: “The establishment of the Council will take the cooperation between RSPP and MEDEF International to new heights, prioritizing, as it will, direct business contact facilitation and joint project implementation.

Vladimir Yakunin, who is also the acting cochairman of the broader-based business association called ‘The Franco-Russian Dialogue’, said: “The new organization will focus, first and foremost, on developing economic relations”. The first new-format forum will take place in the months ahead.
