RSPP for the fifth time held the B20 Regional Consultation Forum in the framework of the SPIEF

On 24 May 2018 the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) held the fifth B20 Regional Consultation Forum in the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

The B20 Forum was organized in partnership with the Argentinian 2018 B20 presidency. This year the B20 is chaired by the Group of Six, representing the leading Argentinian business associations, namely ADEBA, BCBA, CACS, CAMARCO, SRA and UIA, and the International Organisation of Employers (IOE).

The discussion of the B20 Forum focused on digitalization as a driver of growth and inclusive development and future of labour markets, the priorities of the G20-B20 dialogue under the Argentinian presidency.

The participants discussed the B20 recommendations for the G20 Leaders in the digital sphere and Industry 4.0 (in Russian, in English) and future of labour markets (in Russian, in English).

The Forum opened with the statement of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Maxim Akimov. Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the G20, Deputy Head of the Presidential Experts’ Directorate Svetlana Lukash also addressed the participants with a welcome statement.

H.E. Mr. Ricardo Lagorio, Ambassador of República Argentina to the Russian Federation presented the Argentina G20 presidency priorities in 2018, in particular in the digital sphere, education and employment.

The discussion of the session`s topics started with a speech of B20 Chair, Daniel Funes de Rioja, who shared with the participants the B20 recommendations for the G20 Leaders and presented his vision on how technological changes can boost economic growth.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Renova Group, President of Skolkovo Foundation, Chairman of the RSPP Committee on International Cooperation Victor Vekselberg highlighted the Russian business initiatives in the digital sphere aimed at boosting economic growth.

The recommendations by the B20 Digital economy & Industry 4.0 Task Force were presented by the Task Force Co-chair, Chairman of The Hi-Tech Group Deep Kapuria.

The presentation by Head of the Federal Agency of Communications Oleg Dukhovnitsky was devoted to connectivity as a factor of digital economy development and inclusiveness.

Co-Chairman of the EU-Russia Industrialists' Round Table, President and CEO of Carlsberg Cees 'T Hart shared reflected on the EU companies` experience and priorities in rational digitalization as a business model.


Chairman of the Committee on Digital Agenda of the EAEU Business Council, General Director of InfoPark Vladimir Basko highlighted the priorities of the EAEU member states companies in the digital sphere.

The session concluded with the intervention by Arkady Dvorkovich, Chairman of the Board of Russian Railways, Member of the Board of Trustees, Co-chair of the Board, Skolkovo Foundation on digital technologies for transport industry efficiency.

The session was moderated by Mikhail Oseevskiy, President of Rostelecom, Chairman of the RSPP Committee on Digital Economy.

The second session of the B20 Forum was opened with the speech of Svetlana Lukash, Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the G20, Deputy Head of the Presidential Experts’ Directorate on employment and education in the G20 agenda.

Maksim Topilin, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation reflected on the national employment policy as a response to global challenges, in particular such priorities as promoting productivity and equality of opportunities.

The participants of the session discussed the B20 recommendation on employment and education, e.g. effective models of engagement of business, state, educational institutes and society for developing skills for future labour markets; role of human resources to address the challenge of labor productivity and sustainable growth; as well as international organizations` priorities in the employment sphere.
