RSPP Does Not Propose Raising Women’s Retirement Age

Ending speculation in the media that RSPP allegedly proposes raising retirement age for women in Russia to 63, provoked by an April 7 article in the Novaya Gazeta, RSPP makes the following statement:

RSPP is in no way responsible for the proposal in question and takes a completely different line on the issue.

Last February the RSPP Bureau welcomed the position put forward by the RSPP committee for Pension Systems Development and Social Insurance that expressed the need for further professional debate on pension qualification age and for proactive steps in case such a proposal is accepted by the state.
