The Roundtable “Prospects for the EAEU – EU Common Economic Space: Challenges and Opportunities for Business” was held at the RSPP on 6 June 2018. The event was organized by the RSPP in cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Commission, International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Association of European Businesses (AEB) and National Coordination Center for Developing Economic Cooperation with the Countries of Asia-Pacific Region.
The Roundtable was attended by more than 80 representatives of Russian governmental authorities, EEC, business leaders and experts from the EU and EAEU.
The Roundtable started with the statements by RSPP President Dr. Alexander Shokhin; Member of the Board (Minister) for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Ms. Tatiana Valovaya and Head of the Trade Section of the Representative Office of the European Union in the Russian Federation Mr. Luis Portero.
Then, IIASA Director General and CEO Dr. Pavel Kabat made his presentation.
The main discussion focused on three key themes, namely: technical product standards and regulations in the EU and EAEU and their alignment; Trans-Eurasian land transport corridors; as well as foreign direct investment in the EU and the Eurasian countries.
