On April 1, 2015 Russia takes over the presidency of the BRICS

On April 1, 2015 Russia takes over the presidency of the BRICS. Russia`s presidency priorities include strengthening international peace and security, promoting BRICS interests on the international scene, facilitating multilateral financial cooperation and the reform of the international financial system, enhancing trade, economic, social and humanitarian cooperation within the BRICS.

The Strategy for BRICS Economic Partnership is planned to be adopted. During Russia's presidency, the BRICS Youth Summit and the Global University Summit will be held and the BRICS Network University will be established.

A special emphasis will be given to developing inter-parliamentary dialogue. The BRICS countries are establishing a joint web-site functioning as a virtual secretariat to inform the global community on the group's work.

The BRICS Leaders` Summit will be held in Ufa on July 8-9, 2015.
