Metalloinvest joins Social Charter of Russian Business

METALLOINVEST has become a member of the Social Charter of Russian Business.

At present, 277 organisations (companies, industry and regional business associations and NPOs) representing a total of over ten million employees have joined the Social Charter.

Metalloinvest is the world's leading producer of merchant HBI, the world's second largest producer of pellets, the largest iron ore company in Russia and the CIS, and a producer of high-quality steel.

Metalloinvest extracts iron ore from the second largest measured iron ore reserve base in the world with approximately 13.9 billion tonnes of proven and probable reserves on a JORC (IMC Montan) equivalent basis, and around 137 years of reserve life.

Metalloinvest comprises leading iron ore production facilities in Russia – Lebedinsky GOK and Mikhailovsky GOK; steel mills – Oskol Elektrometallurgical Plant and Ural Steel; a ferrous scrap enterprise – Uralmetkom, and assets which provide services and supplies of raw materials to mining and metallurgical facilities.

The Company strives to maintain a favourable social environment in the regions where it operates, and at each of its plants. Metalloinvest provides stable employment for around 60 thousand employees, and assists in solving pressing problems in the regions where it operates.
