Letter of Condolence following Earthquake in Japan

RSPP President Alexander Shokhin sent a letter of condolence on behalf of RSPP members to the Japanese Ambassador M. Kono and to the Chairman of Nippon Keidanren Mr. H. Yonekura.

Dear Sirs,

Members of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs express their deepest sympathy for the people of Japan who have suffered in the catastrophic earthquake and the ensuing tsunami that devastated areas in the East and North East of the country causing immense casualties on March 11, 2011.

At the same time, we feel a profound respect for Japanese people who, at the risk of their lives, are dealing with the aftermath of the disaster.

Such a massive tragedy is a blow to the country’s population and economy alike. However, we believe in Japanese companies’ expertise in quickly restoring and rebuilding what nature destroys.

Please, Your Excellency, accept our sincerest condolence for the families of those fallen victim to this unprecedented natural disaster.

Alexander Shokhin

President
Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs
