The Heads of State/Government of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) met in Myanmar’s capital for the 25th ASEAN Summit on November 11-13, 2014. During this Summit, the ASEAN Leaders also engaged with the Heads of States/Governments of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, India, Australia, New Zealand, Russia and the United States. The discussions focused on human capital development through improving quality of education and employment skills, labour market development and investment in innovation. The ASEAN leaders adopted Declaration on the ASEAN Community's Post-2015 Vision.
ASEAN summit became an important event for Myanmar which reemerged as a vital international relations actor after a period of foreign political noninvolvement.
