At the warm-up session of the Forum Dr. Marina Larionova presented an overview of the G20 work on promoting gender equality and empowering women for economic growth on the base of the ongoing project results with G20 effectiveness assessment as well recommendations on strengthening G20 cooperation in this sphere. Dr. Marina Larionova also shared with the participants the B20 gender-related activities and recommendations.
The warm-up session was also attended by the representatives of the European Commission, German company SAP SE and Australian Lowy Institute for International Policy.
The Chatham House International Policy Forum takes place in London, the UK on July 11-12, 2016.
The Forum is attended by the representatives of the G20 governmental authorities, W20, international organizations, business, consulting firms and expert institutions.
The discussion within the Forum focuses on a wide range of issues, including empowering women for economic growth, investing in women and for women, non-discriminating legal frameworks, financial inclusion and access to finance, technologies dissemination, women`s role in politics and many others.
The International Policy Forum on Gender-Inclusive Growth was established to explore, and eventually promote, innovative policies which will advance gender-inclusive growth in G20 countries. It was first held in Canberra in 2014 during the Australian presidency of the G20, followed by Ankara in 2015 where it became the official launch of the Women 20 (W20).
