The International Council for Cooperation and Investment (ICCI) meeting with participation of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich was held in RSPP on December 11, 2015.
The meeting was attended by the heads of the international business associations and companies operating in Russia as well as chairs of the RSPP bilateral and multilateral business bodies.
The discussion focused on the predictability and stability of institutional and regulatory environment for business in Russia as well as import substitution and localization of production.
The participants discussed the legalization of parallel imports, changes in the Russian legislation on wage labour, in particular recruitment and employment of international labour force, preferences for the Russian producers of software, new regulation requirements resulting from the Eurasian Customs Union launch, trade regulations, customs procedures improvement, Turkish companies operations in Russia and other issues.
Arkady Dvorkovich emphasized that the Government of the Russian Federation intends to engage actively with the international and Russian business for ensuring the quality of regulation and business environment improvement in Russia. Advancing of Russia`s positions in the World Bank Doing Business ranking, primarily on tax administration, is the result of accomplished work.
Summing up Arkady Dvorkovich invited the international companies discuss arising questions both at the platforms of the Russian Government and relevant ministries, in particular the Federal Customs Service, Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications and other.
The meeting concluded with the statements by RSPP President, ICCI Chairman Alexander Shokhin and Chairman of the RSPP Committee on International Cooperation, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Renova Group, President of Skolkovo Foundation Viktor Vekselberg. Alexander Shokhin and Viktor Vekselberg emphasized the importance of Russian and foreign business engagement on specific issues within relevant RSPP bodies – Committees and Commissions as well as business councils for an effective communication with the Russian governmental authorities and promotion of the international and Russian business interests in the process of advancing of the Russian legislation.
The International Council for Cooperation and Investment (ICCI) is an advisory body established by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) in 2008 as a platform for foreign and Russian businesses dialogue with Russian authorities. The ICCI brings together leading foreign investors in Russia’s economy, business associations and chambers of commerce.
One of the ICCI key objectives is to provide the international companies and governmental authorities with fact-based and comprehensive information on trends and developments of Russia`s business climate and the Russian authorities with the consolidated positions of Russian and international business on the current agenda.
