Consultations on OECD report on industry self-regulation are underway

The OECD is currently working on a report on Industry Self-Regulation. A revised draft of the report was discussed at the October 2014 Consumer Policy Committee (CPC) meeting and a final version was just circulated. An informal working group was set up and BIAC is participating in the review process.

The Industry Self-Regulation Report addresses benefits and challenges of Industry Self-Regulation and seeks to clarify its role and use in supporting consumer interests. The OECD Secretariat already received comments from the country delegations after the October CPC committee meeting, which it is considering to incorporate.

The draft is open for comments by 2 February 2015 but the OECD Secretariat would appreciate preliminary comments from BIAC on the below suggestions by 6 January 2015.
