The RIA Novosti news agency hosted a press conference dedicated to B20 presentation of the White Book of businesses’ recommendations to the global leaders covering a raft of economic concerns facing the global community.
Those attending the event included:
- Alexander Shokhin, the current B20 Chairman and the President of the Russian Union of Industrialists (RSPP);
- Kseniya Yudayeva, Chief of the Presidential Experts’ Directorate and the Russian G20 Sherpa;
- Oleg Preksin, RSPP Executive Vice President, B20 Sherpa;
- David Yakobashvili, ‘BioEnergy’ Board Chairman, Chairman of the B20 ‘Job Creation, Employment & Investment in Human Capital’ task force;
- Andrey Bougrov, ‘Interros’ Vice President, Chairman of the B20 ‘Transparency & Anti-Corruption’ task force.
While Alexander Shokhin said that the B20 recommendations fell within both Russia’s G20 priorities and the preparatory work carried out by the sherpas, Ms. Yudayeva emphasized that the debate resulting in the White Book had been most interesting.
“Thank you for the recommendations! Many of them fall within the framework of the official G20 process, lots of them allow to view the policies in question through a different window, so to speak, the business window. We’re going to treat the recommendations in a big way and take on board as many of them as will be possible”, Ms. Yudayeva is quoted as saying.
B20 will be presenting the White Book to the G20 heads of state and government at the G20 Summit in St Petersburg on September 6.
