March 13 with the support of the RSPP Committee for technical regulation, standardization and conformity assessment was conducted the work shop on the rules of participation of Russian experts in technical committees of CEN/CENELEC. The work shop was one of the first joint events organized by the Federal Agency on technical regulation and Metrology and RSPP Committee aimed at the practical realization of the cooperation agreement between CEN/CENELEC and Rosstandart.
The seminar was attended by Mr. A.V. Zazhigalkin - Deputy head of Rosstanadrt, A.A. Korovaycev, General Director of FSUE «STANDARTINFORM», A.N. Lotsmanov, First Deputy Chairman of RSPP Committee for technical regulation, standardization and conformity assessment, N.A. Khromova, Director of the department of FSUE «STANDARTINFORM» and others.
Among the main issues of the seminar’s agenda were the conditions and principles of participation of Russian and European experts in technical committees of CEN/CENELEC and in Russian technical committees for standardization as well as rules of using European standards and their translation into Russian language.
The seminar aroused great interest among the representatives of Russian industry, its participants were more than a hundred experts. It's no wonder. Agreement signed last September between the CEN/CENELEC and Rosstandart is a very important document which opens new opportunities for joint work of Russian and European experts on standards.
Rosstandart with active participation of RSPP Committee and experts of IRT TF 8 spend two years for preparing this agreement. Today begins the work on its implementation. Prepared road map defines the main directions of activity. Seminar March 13 was only the first phase of this work.
Within the framework of the implementation of the CEN/CENELEC-Rosstandard agreement 10-11 April 2014 in Brussels will host a workshop on participation in the CEN/CENELEC technical committees.
The main themes of the event are:
- General information on the European system of standardization,
- European regulations and standards development process
- Rules of translation and authentication of EN standards
- Statutory framework for copyright protection of CEN/CENELEC and ISO/IEC.
Additionally Russian and European experts will be able to meet each other and to agree on further cooperation.
It should be noted that the implementation of the agreement between CEN/CENELEC and Rosstandart were actively discussed at other events. In particular they were on focus at the International Conference "Technical regulation and standardization in construction" that had been hosted February 19-20 in Berlin within 16-th international building exhibition BAUTEC. At the conference reported Francisco Verdera Bremen - Director strategic partnerships of CEN/CENELEC, the representatives of European Commission, the German standardization bodies.
Also this issues will raised at the International Conference on technical regulation, standardization and conformity assessment on April 22-25 in Paris holding .
Joint work of the RSPP Committee and Rosstandart on technical regulation, standardization and conformity assessment on the implementation of the agreement on cooperation with CEN/CENELEC will continue.
