A special issue of the Asia-Pacific News Brief on the occasion of the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit events

On the occasion of the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit and Russia-ASEAN Business Forum the special issue of the Asia-Pacific News Brief focuses on Russia’s and its Eurasian Economic Union partners’ cooperation with Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The Brief is published by the NCC APR with support of RSPP, KPMG, CIIR of the RANEPA and ERG.

The issue opens with an interview with Le Luong Minh, Secretary-General of ASEAN on ASEAN main achievements in economic and social development, factors of success, role of the Association in the member’s development, its future agenda and prospects for cooperation with the EAEU.

The second section of the issue presents the interviews with ASEAN member countries Ambassadors in Russia (Brunei, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Republic of the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) on economic and business environment in their countries as well as priorities for cooperation with Russia and EAEU.

The section “ASEAN Partners” includes a study on South Korean trade policies and strategies for the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and a material for investors on doing business in India.

The next section presents the interviews with the EAEU member countries (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan) on national development priorities, work in the EAEU and cooperation with the Asia-Pacific partners.

The special issue concludes with an expert material on regulation of investors’ profits repatriation from ASEAN countries.
